The following prints were made during the spring of 2000. The concept was a further exploration of how "masculinity" is installed within a male. The main figure is being worked on by a number of different figures from home improvement manuals. The entire print conformed to this notion of 'conditioning' as the test colors, measurements, and printers marks were all left as visible imprints.

The additional image is drawn in pen directly on top of the print. The images depicted are of various ways in which pictures are created or made visible mechanically, i.e., vacuum tube, fuses of a slide projector, gears of a movie projector, etc. The concept of the project was to create dialogue between the ways in which the ideas of manliness are installed, and the ways in which pictures are made visible. This project marks the first major use of drawing in my work,foreshadowing the next direction.
